Jean Heywood has been selected as the candidate for Borehamwood South (division 28) you can contact Jean on 0208 381 5584. Jean lives in Borehamwood with her husband, Martin, and family. Since 1996, Jean has been a councillor on both Hertsmere Borough Council, where she serves with Martin, and Elstree and Borehamwood Town Council, where she proudly served as Mayor in 2000.

Jean is Chair of Governors at Saffron Green School. She has led several campaigns locally – fighting to save our local post offices and stopping a phone mast being erected in a residential area in Borehamwood. She continues to work with residents at Farriers Way to improve their estate and bring down crime.
Jean has been involved with Borehamwood town twinning activities for several years and is a former Scout group leader.
We need to get our roads sorted. Many are a disgrace and have become unsafe. Where are the traffic calming measures in Bullhead Road that have been promised for years?

We need to protect our Green Belt land from Government-imposed housing targets which will mean having to concrete over our fields. We must fight to protect Woodcock Hill from the developers.

We need to work together to tackle the fear of crime. We must stamp out anti-social behaviour in Borehamwood and bring back dignity and civic pride to our communities.

Your current County councillor lives in St Albans. Do you know his name and what he has been doing all these years? The answers are: probably not, and definitely not enough. Well, it’s time for a County councillor who you do know and who actually lives in this area – like I do – to represent us all. Please support me at the County elections on 5 May.

Promoted by Mark Shaw on behalf of Jean Heywood, both of 104 High Street, London Colney, Herts AL2 1QL
