Alan has been appointed as Chairman of the Overview and Scrutiny Committee which is responsible for ensuring that topic groups are set up to investigate various functions of the County Council and make recommendations for improvement.

He also serves on the Audit Committee as well as being a member of the Joint Members Highway Panel


Alan says “I will continue to do my level best to help all those who request my help in any matter that concerns them. I cannot promise always to solve everyone’s particular problem but will deal with all requests in a businesslike manner.


I will challenge the County Council’s services to ensure that they deliver value for money and that they respond to all queries in a timely manner.
I will promote the regeneration of the Hoddesdon Town Centre at every opportunity, by working with the Borough of Broxbourne, as well as
Hertfordshire Highways.”

Alan has lived in Hertfordshire all his life and in Hoddesdon for the last 35 years. He has been married for 41 years, has three grown up
daughters and two granddaughters.
Alan has served the community as a Trustee for the Dame Letitia Monson Trust (local Almshouses in the High Road in Broxbourne) for 28 years, the last 22 as Chairman. He has also served on the County Council for the past 12 years and the Lee Valley Regional Park Authority for the last 4 years.

Alan has been in business all his working life and understands the needs of small to medium size businesses. His passion is that of encouraging people to aim high, achieve more and  help
others.

Being a local person Alan believes that he can help to make the local communities voice heard on the many issues that concern us all.
