DAVE HEWITT CHOSEN AS YOUR CONSERVATIVE CANDIDATE IN THE HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL ELECTIONS ON 4TH JUNE Dave regularly attends community meetings and local consultations on safety and policing in Cheshunt. He also works closely with resident’s groups.
Being in Adult Care Services gives Dave the chance to work with many voluntary organisations such as Age Concern, Viewpoint, Mind and Carer’s in Herts, plus physically and learning disabled groups. He is a governor of HPFT, Hertfordshire’s NHS mental health foundation. Dave enjoys spending lots of time with his family who all live locally. He also helps run an internet technician’s group and enjoys photography and video filmmaking Dave Hewitt moved to Cheshunt in 1968. He has two married sons and twin granddaughters. Dave and his wife ran a successful TV business.
About a year after he was elected he gave up working for himself to work full time as your County Councillor.
He now has responsibilities in Adult Care Services throughout Hertfordshire.
Dave is a Governor of Arlesdene Nursery School in Cheshunt. He helped secure a high level of funding for a new Children’s Centre at Arlesdene. This is now also available for community uses and Adult Education.
After negotiating an extra £200k grant for Turnford School’s refurbishment, he was asked to join their Board of Governors. He takes an active interest in the running and improvement of the School.
Dave works with the community, helping many residents with their problems. He Joined with local residents and Borough Councillor colleagues to protest about the cuts at Chase Farm Hospital. This helped to persuade the Primary Care Trust to make Cheshunt Community Hospital an Urgent Care Centre.
Dave says “I urge you to vote for me so that I can continue to represent you at County.”
