Introduction:

My wife Mary and I came to Cheshunt when we were married 37 years ago to
manage an electrical store.

I started my own television & video business in Cheshunt which I have run
for 34 years.

We lived in Cadmore Lane for 8 years before moving to Hoddesdon following
the birth of our second son. Both our sons live close by and we also have
beautiful twin granddaughters.

I have been involved with our local residents group, have helped to fund
raise for various charities and sit as a trustee to the Hoddesdon &
Broxbourne Conservative Club. My hobbies and interests include researching
our family trees and classic cars.

Having spent most of my working life running my own small business in
Cheshunt I have come into close contact with the local community and got to
know many of the problems and concerns that residents have.

Using the same professional methods I have learnt in business I will do my
very best to assist the residents of Cheshunt to get good value for money
from their County Council.

Here are some of the issues that are on my priority list:

. Crime and policing (including anti-social behaviour)
. Highways road maintenance, including parking problems.
. The need for improving local amenities and facilities
. Extensive house building in the area and further proposed developments,
without improved infrastructure.

I realise that there are no magic solutions to many problems but I promise
to put back something into this community which has supported me over the
years.

Promoted by Mark Shaw on behalf of Dave Hewitt, both of 76 High Street, Hoddesdon, Herts EN11 8ET
