David is the Cabinet member responsible for Resources & Economic Wellbeing and is Deputy Leader his area of responsibilty covers the following subject areas

Finance (Revenue& Capital), Efficiencies, Human Resources, Property, IT Management and Development, E-Governement, Customer Service, Member Development and Economic well-being and Tourism.

David, a self-employed financial adviser, lives in Flamstead with his wife Alison, and two children. He loves village life and is an active participant in it as well as enjoying cricket, rugby, theatre and jazz.
David has wide experience of local government having served on the county council since 1999 (as well as being a borough councillor for Watling ward in Dacorum.). In addition to being Deputy Leader of the county council he holds the resources and economic well-being portfolio. As chairman of the policy committee on the Police Authority, he is responsible for setting the Hertfordshire policing plan.

David represents Bridgewater which includes the parishes of Northchurch, Potten End with Nettleden, Little Gaddesden, Great Gaddesden, Markyate and Flamstead.
He says "My real satisfaction comes from helping constituents – I love my role in the community. From the regular meetings I have with constituents I find that we often share the same concerns: the state of the economy; anti-social behaviour; good education for our children; proper health care; value for money from our taxes; keeping villages unspoilt; opposing noisy aircraft. As Deputy Leader at County Hall I have vigorously, and successfully, campaigned on these issues and if re-elected will continue to be a strong and influential voice at the top table.
I will also continue to serve you in getting those things done which make a difference to your lives – advising on school applications; getting a pot-hole repaired or contacting Adult Care Services on care for an elderly relative.
