John Has been selected as your candidate for Bishop's Stortford East.

John Barfoot has lived in Bishop's Stortford East for 30 years and has been married to Anne for 32 years. They have three adult daughters all of whom were educated in the town and who work locally. He is a committed Christian and an active member of the Community Church.

John owns and runs a local business, Copyzone, which employs 8 people, all of whom live locally. At the present time he is fully aware of the effect that the credit crunch is having on businesses and individuals alike.

John wants to represent Bishop's Stortford faithfully at the County Council and for this reason has been learning as much as he can about the town and the issues that face it. The Town is under pressure on every front. Stansted Airport, The East of England Plan and the M11 Development Corridor contrive to concrete over the Town which we love. With this in mind he has gone out of his way to understand the issues which concern residents most by devoting time and energy to the Town Plan Project.

John will work to see that Bishop's Stortford is not treated as the far outpost of the County.
In these days of changing moral codes John stands firmly in support of the traditional family, believing that the family is the first building block of a stable society. He will work tirelessly to protect the family and bring Christian values back into our society. Values of hard work, prudence, faithfulness and honesty.
