For the past 34 years Peter Channell has been based in Hemel Hempstead. He is a retired Business Manager from a multi-national company located in Hemel Hempstead. He enjoys keeping fit, hiking, walking his dog around Bunkers Park, and is a member of the National Trust.

His involvement in politics began when he retired, as he believed that if he became a Councillor he could make a difference to the way the County Council was run. He was first elected in 1997 and has served as County Councillor to Hemel Hempstead East. He firmly believes that the County Council has a responsibility to make Hertfordshire a better place to live and a prosperous place to work for all its residents.
I believe in:

· The right of the law-abiding people of Dacorum to live their lives free of the fear of crime and anti-social behaviour.
· Maintaining our roads to a high standard to keep traffic moving and to reduce the number of people killed or seriously injured.
· Fighting the interests of the elderly and disabled people to ensure they have access to County Council services so they can maintain their independence.
· Supporting children at risk of harm and to give children looked after by the Council the best possible start in life
· Protecting the ‘Green Belt’ by encouraging high quality building on previously developed land.
· Saving Hemel Hempstead Hospital and putting patients first.

If re-elected I will continue to work full-time for local residents.

Promoted by Kevin Drew on behalf of Peter Channell, both of 11-13 Alexandra Road, Hemel Hempstead, Herts HP2 5BS
