Teresa has lived in Harpenden since the mid 1980’s with her husband David and son John. A commuter to London for 30 years, Teresa appreciates the stresses and strains of both the travelling and current working environment for many of the residents.

Teresa has been involved in local politics for nearly 20 years, having served on the Town Council and was Town Mayor in 2001. Teresa no longer sits on the Town Council but represents Harpenden South at St Albans District Council and Harpenden South West at County Hall since February 2008.

Although much of Teresa’s time is taken up with working as a Councillor, she has a part-time job as a Company Secretary, is a member of Harpenden Village Rotary Club and one of the organisers of the popular Christmas Carnival. An enthusiastic advocate of a better deal for Harpenden and all of its residents, Teresa ensures that the interests of the Town are robustly represented at St Albans District Council, especially in regard to planning and strategic policies for future development.

Now finding her feet at County Hall after a year in office, Teresa hopes to retain her seat to ensure that she can continue to fight for all those issues that most affect all residents including better roads, adequate school places both in the primary and secondary sector and a thriving economy.

Teresa Successfully Campaigns for Safer Routes to School Teresa is pleased to report that The Grove Schools and St. Dominics have been included in the Safer Routes to School programme. This will take an holistic view of all the ways that children can get to school safely and will include the assessment of a A1081crossing in the Redbourn Lane/West Common Way area; additional lighting and pavement along Walkers Road. Teresa will especially be focusing on the reduction of traffic speed in the vicinity of the schools and local roads.

Promoted by G E Mitchell on behalf of Teresa Heritage both of Riverside House, 1 Place Farm, Wheathampstead, Herts AL4 8SB
