Terry Hone is your local Conservative County Councillor candidate for Letchworth North West in the forthcoming election on Thursday June 4th 2009.

Unlike your present Labour County Councillor he lives in Letchworth Garden City and
has done for over 25 years. He understands our local issues and would like to be given the opportunity to represent your views on Hertfordshire County Council.

For the past 9 years he has been a local councillor on North Herts District Council
(NHDC), representing a Letchworth ward. During that time, as Finance Portfolio Holder and Deputy Leader, he has been instrumental in ensuring the people of North Herts, in particular Letchworth, have had their voices heard.

Here are some of the things he has been involved in recently: -
• As Finance Portfolio Holder, he allocated further investment in Letchworth Outdoor Pool,
demonstrating his commitment to its future. Obtained more funding for investigation and
installation of more Controlled Parking and promoted substantial funding for Youth facilities.
• As Chairman of a local Crime Reduction panel, was instrumental in, with partners, improving
security and therefore reduce anti-social behaviour on a local housing estate.

• As a member of the Letchworth Area Committee of NHDC, encouraged other members to support projects such as the Letchworth Arts Centre, additional planting and maintenance of trees in the Garden City and other significant community based charities/projects. Total
commitment of which was over £200,000.
• As the lead Letchworth Conservative Councillor for the re-development of the town centre by the Letchworth Garden City Heritage Foundation (LGCHF), regularly met with many shop
tenants and residents impacted by the proposals.

• As the Council’s representative on a number of outside bodies, voted at the East of England
Regional Assembly (EERA) on your behalf against the Liberal Democrat proposal for
additional gypsy and traveller pitches in North Herts. As a member of the joint CCTV panel with neighbouring authorities, ensured that adequate CCTV coverage was given to our towns and vulnerable areas.

As a member of a joint planning process panel with Stevenage to oversee, the EERA imposed, housing developments, am able to ensure the protection of our
Green Belt and against the over development of inappropriate areas.
and at the same time,
as a local councillor, participated in and helped to resolve, many individual problems of the people I represent, especially issues around planning applications and parking.

Promoted by Doug Kell on behalf of Terry Hone both of 75 Station Road, Letchworth garden City, Herts. SG6 3BJ
